Menu Highlights
Heather tip
Line moves fast. Cash or card. No seating — fold it and eat it.
Why it’s on the list
The FiDi outpost of the Greenwich Village legend. Thin, foldable, slightly greasy, exactly balanced — if you had to teach a Martian what a New York slice is, you'd hand them one of these.
History
—
Founded 1975 by Pino 'Joe' Pozzuoli at Carmine & Bleecker in Greenwich Village — the original shop is still there and still runs the same recipe.
—
Expanded to Times Square, Williamsburg, and this Financial District location; each shop trains in the Carmine St. kitchen.
Did You Know?
Pino Pozzuoli emigrated from Naples; the house sauce recipe has not changed since opening.
